In 1959, after purchasing his first truck, Joe McIlvaine established McIlvaine Trucking and worked as an independent contractor. By 1977 the company had grown to a dozen trucks and was fully incorporated, and by 1982 it saw the creation of the current central operating and maintenance facilities in rural Wooster, Ohio. They are a liquid bulk carrier.
