The Western Maryland Railway was a Class 1 railroad which operated in three states hauling coal and freight. There headquarters was in Baltimore, Maryland. The Western Maryland Railway became part of the Chessie System in 1973 and ceased operating its lines in 1983 when it was merged into the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.
