Southern Pacific named their Intermodal service, "Golden Pig Service" back in the 70's or 80's. At one time they had hordes of these 45' trailers riding trains all over the western part of the USA. The trailers were retired from service just a few years ago. The "pig" part comes from the common usage of "piggy-back" to describe a trailer riding on a flatcar, or TOFC (Trailer On Flat Car). "Golden" was just to describe the level or service.
The Southern Pacific Railroad was usually called the Southern Pacific or (from the railroad's initials) Espee. It was a Class 1 railroad with headquarters in San Francisco, Califorina. It was absorbed in 1988 by the company that controlled the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad and eight years later became part of the Union Pacific Railroad.
This black Southern Pacific Railroad cap is made of 65% Polyester-35% Cotton and has an adjustable plastic strap for one size fits most for a comfortable fit for years of use.
